The psychological and medical professions have recently began to recognize a strong interconnection between depression and panic attacks. Although depression is not necessarily included in the symptoms suffered by the person who has heavy anxiety, the relationship between the two has shown itself strongly enough to have researchers begin looking for treatments that address both conditions.

What are Panic Attacks?

A panic attack is a sudden surge of overwhelming fear and anxiety, usually without any clear reason and without warning. The signs and symptoms develop quickly and usually arrive at its peak in 10 minutes. The majority of panic attacks do not last for more than 30 minutes and it rarely lasts for more than an hour.
